Thank you to everyone who took time to complete our community survey that we put out in April. After 6 months, we have had 125 respondents. It is time to share the results! (Scroll down for detailed results.)
Most survey respondents are long-time GPRA members who have lived in Ginter Park for over 16 years. The top three activities of interest are civic engagement, block parties, and casual quarterly meetups. When it comes to causes to support, local food banks and neighborhood schools were the top choices.
Ginter Park resident respondents who added additional comments expressed strong interest in building a more inclusive, family-friendly, and civically engaged neighborhood. In addition to the listed activity choices, top interests include helping neighbors in need, improving safety, advocating on zoning and urban development, and creating events that welcome families, children, and newcomers.
There is also a desire for environmental stewardship, preservation of green spaces and trees, and hands-on neighborhood beautification projects like cleanups and plant swaps. Many called for a balance between fun social events—such as block parties, concerts, and game nights—and meaningful civic involvement, including equity-centered advocacy and safer infrastructure.
